Kick vs Twitch advertising: what brands can buy on each
Twitch sells ads through Amazon Ads, with unskippable breaks, First Impression Takeover in 16 markets and approved third-party measurement. Kick launched Kick Ads in August 2026 without published markets or verification. Three Turkish creators made Kick's Q1 2026 global top 10.
Kick vs Twitch advertising is a choice between a mature ad stack and a fast-growing audience. Twitch sells through Amazon Ads, with unskippable breaks, high-impact products and approved third-party measurement; Kick opened Kick Ads in August 2026 and, in the reports we reviewed, hasn't said where it is sold or how an impression is verified. On both, you can also sponsor streamers or place your creative inside their broadcasts.
Kick Ads in detail: Does Kick have ads?
What Twitch and Kick sell to advertisers themselves
Twitch. Amazon Ads sells Twitch inventory; its guide describes pre-rolls and mid-roll breaks of 30 seconds to three minutes that the streamer chooses to run; video ads are unskippable, and high-impact campaigns require a minimum spend. First Impression Takeover shows an unskippable video of up to 30 seconds in the viewer's first broadcast of the day, sold per day per geo; Channel Takeover packages creator skins and readouts. More in Twitch takeover vs in-stream ads.
Kick. Kick launched Kick Ads on 4 August 2026, B&T reported. According to GamesBeat, it is a portal for direct, programmatic and open-auction buying, and a global buy uses a blended CPM. On 11 August, Tubefilter reported ad breaks in live streams. These reports don't name the countries where Kick Ads is sold, how an impression is verified or whether reporting goes down to channel level.
Audience: what public data says about Kick and Twitch
| Metric | Twitch | Kick | Source, date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hours watched, Q3 2026 | 4.51 billion, 14.2% share, +4% on Q2 | 2.04 billion, 6.4% share, +30.7% on Q2 | Streams Charts, 13 Oct 2026 |
| Channels that went live, Q2 2026 | 7.94 million | 807,700 | Streamlabs and Stream Hatchet, 27 Aug 2026 |
| Average concurrent viewers per channel, Q2 2026 | 22.6 | about 85 | Streamlabs and Stream Hatchet, 27 Aug 2026 |
| Platform's own figure | about 35 million daily users, nearly 70% aged 18–34 (2022) | 100 million+ active users, 81.7% aged 18–34 (2026) | Amazon Ads; Kick via B&T |
By Streams Charts' figures, Twitch's watch time is about 2.2 times Kick's, down from about 2.8 times in Q2. Kick has a tenth as many live channels, but each draws more viewers on average, so its reach is more concentrated. All are market estimates; the last row isn't like for like.
Turkey, Spain, Germany: where each platform is stronger
- Turkey. Stream Hatchet data, reported by NetInfluencer on 4 May 2026, gave Kick 81.4% of viewing across Twitch, YouTube Gaming and Kick in the Middle East and North Africa in Q1 2026, a region whose definition includes the Turkish language group. Three Turkish creators, wtcN (171.5k), Eray (151.2k) and Ayberk (118.8k), made Kick's global top 10 by peak viewers in Q1 2026 (Streams Charts, 9 April 2026). First Impression Takeover isn't offered in Turkey.
- Spain. All ten Spanish streamers with the most hours watched in 2025 stream on Twitch, seven of them only there (Streams Charts, 9 January 2026). Kick's own EU data, cited by Mein-MMO on 29 June 2026, ranks Spain second in Europe by users, after Poland.
- Germany. The same Kick data puts Germany third.
- UK and US. First Impression Takeover is offered in both; we found no comparable public Kick figures.
Brand safety: content rules on Twitch and Kick
Twitch introduced six Content Classification Labels on 20 June 2023, Gambling among them. Since 18 October 2022, Twitch has banned streaming slots, roulette and dice sites not licensed in the US or another jurisdiction with sufficient consumer protection (CNBC, 21 September 2022).
Kick still allows gambling streams: from 1 February 2025, such content must come from age-verified platforms, Creator Handbook reported, and the KICK Partner Program doesn't pay for gambling streams. For Kick Ads, the reports we reviewed mention only buying by content category and audience segment; they describe no exclusion tools or third-party verification.
With in-stream ads (your creative rendered inside the broadcast picture, not in an ad break), you approve channels by name on both. At APIQ, every streamer's contract rules out ads next to politics, violence, sex and drugs, automated checks exclude gambling and betting channels, and you can remove a streamer mid-campaign. More in Brand safety in live streams.
How streamers earn on each, and why it matters
On Twitch, Partners and Affiliates earn 55% of net ad revenue by running at least 3 ad minutes per hour, and they set ad density themselves (Twitch, 4 September 2024). On Kick, Affiliates and Partners keep 95% of subscriptions and KICKs (Kick); Partners who multistream earn 50% of their usual Kick revenue. We found no official Kick source on the creators' share of ad revenue.
Two things follow. Some creators stream to several platforms at once (DjMaRiiO, second in Spain's 2025 ranking, is on Twitch, YouTube and Kick), and a creative rendered into the broadcast picture reaches every viewer on any of them. And check audience quality: Streams Charts estimated that in Q2 2025 at least 10% of Twitch accounts averaging 50+ viewers showed signs of persistent viewbotting, and more than 16% on Kick (Tubefilter, 26 September 2025), flags of likelihood rather than confirmed cases.
How to check that your ad ran on Twitch and Kick
- Platform ads and sponsorships. Twitch has first-party reporting, and DoubleVerify and Integral Ad Science are approved on Twitch to measure invalid traffic, viewability and brand safety. Kick Ads' verification isn't described in the reports we reviewed, and a sponsorship comes with the streamer's own report.
- In-stream ads with APIQ. A screenshot of every view with the audience size at that moment; computer vision checks the creative's presence and position; on Twitch and Kick, the chat link is checked as posted and pinned; anti-fraud uses 14 parameters. You pay one CPV rate per format, for verified views only, with a guaranteed volume.
Creative tip: an APIQ poll question runs to 75 characters, but 64 on Kick, where each viewer picks one answer. Write to Kick's limits and one poll fits both.
